Everything is still in gear for a SHIFT to cooler weather that WILL bring snow.
Nobody knows the details yet, so don't get so worried. Keep the faith!
Even if it doesn't get as cold as some may want, I think it's more exciting to get the snow and forecast the snow.
Starting Wed night it will be chilly enough for flurries over higher elevations. Thurs, Fri may also see flurries even down to sea level. The weekend system may be Sat or Sun when we see some flurries again. So it's possible to head into the following week with a few cm of snow on the ground and things will get colder the closer to Feb we get. Then who knows what surprises you will get! I'm still very optimistic. You should be too. There are a few members here posting great maps and making great predictions. Don't give up! :brrr:
I’m jumping back on to the ride because of your post.

How's the EPS, GEFS and whatever else there is.
The 7th annual snowfall contest is canceled due to no snow this winter.

Yep. Not a bad GFS run. Lots of cold offshore flow in the believable range. Never goes fully arctic but the interior turns bitterly cold and there are plenty of snow chances on the coast.

If this keeps up we my see systems sliding down the coast giving multiple snowfalls, and at least one blizzard like situation is shaping up as a possibility. I hope the future runs remain consistent!

Snowy systems will ride down the coast most likely:

This will all lead to at least 1 major:

I think there were only a few that had taken it off.

I have a feeling this GFS run is going to be less Nito friendly. Looking less cutoff with the low by day 5
