Forrest Gump wrote: Thu Jan 14, 2021 9:28 pm Just when you thought 2008 ran out of ammo, it reloaded several times to keep the battle going. Models can't pick that up this far out. Gotta rely on Catnip's surprise attacks.
Exactly. At face value, this looks like a 5-7 day cold snap, but it could easily last longer. Models simply have a hard time with the long range. At this point, we don't really know how long it will last. But hey, 5-7 days is better than nothing. If it was a very snowy period, I think it would still be memorable. Another point to be made is that with solid snow cover, temperatures can be colder than modelled.

December 2008 was special though given how long it persisted. I think that one went on around 14 days.

Feb 2019 was 2 weeks of snow for us- with the second snowfall being a colder event.

Arctic fart coming? Hasn’t been warm enough to get cold enough. Will get sunny though and dry since we had so much rain.

Better not get too cold without a bunch of snow. Don’t like paying gas bills to have cold sun.
