Still time for things to change of course, but the ensembles seem to be holding steady.
500mb pattern takes form by Day 4-5.

Can't wait until the operational stops sipping, gets wasted and spits out a classic drunkle run.

I think by the weekend we’ll have some nice looking Op runs.

Interesting. EC updated their table. This Google map I made shows all peak wind gusts yesterday. YXX was actually 89!

BTW, I lost power for 24 hours because of the wind. I also lost cell coverage, which still isn't back up. My house was about 10 degrees this morning when the power came back. brrr!

Curious to see what this euro run spits out for later next week. Blocking looks better organized by day 5/6. Energy dropping in from the north along the coast.

Nope. Still believe the appy is being served before the main course arrives for Feb.

That fits my earlier thinking of a progression similar late Jan '96, just delayed by five days or so.

Or we could go full out and say late Jan - early Feb 1929 (as that 500mb configuration is the best match for the upcoming pattern), but that's probably not happening.

Looks like it would be a slop event.

A bit too warm.

Way out there so not much point analyzing it too much.
