ECMWF keeps the moisture offshore. Nice downsloping winds keep us mild and dry.
Not bad.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Why are some of you getting depressed?
This type of scenario has not happened in quite some time. Models are having a difficult time with this. All of us are not sure what will happen so many days out. However, we have good agreement along many of the models. This thing just needs to get kicked into gear and then the readouts will become a bit more clear.
Here is what I do know:
A major pattern change WILL happen. (We don't know full results yet)
It's going to cool down. Winter is coming to western Canada. (It's already starting to take shape. Minor signals are there)
It's going to be for an extended time.
Slow start, but meaty middle. (Cold air will drain out from the NE) It will reach the coast.
It WILL snow! Even at sea level. How much? Not sure. Those sliders can drop up to 20cm out of nowhere. It's happened many times.
I expect one large snow storm out if this. (For Vancouver region)
It may not get record breaking cold, but cold enough for snow, and cold long enough for ponds to freeze.
Moving into Feb looks very interesting as another shot might be gearing up.
Fun times are ahead. Don'r be depressed.
Also, don't listen to wetcoast91. That guy is a troll. He picks randon maps and gives warm bias forecasts ideas like a mental patient.
