Looks like many of the models have locked onto some potentially great winter weather in about 10 days or so. Confidence is high currently but as we know, many a disappointment can be had on the west coast. This however is heading into tremendously good agreement. You could be in for a few weeks of pretty cold weather and yes, SNOW! This week will get really exciting as we track the models. I have a good feeling this time round as do many other mets. Snow is finally coming!

Well I didn't know enough about modelling back then to follow them seriously, but from what I understand, 50-100cm of snow was modelled. Then 12 hours out the models collapsed and all we got was a brief overrunning event overnight that turned into mild rain the next day. Pretty hard to compare what's currently modelled to something that epic.
I do remember the snow event. But part of me is glad I didn't follow the models closely back then otherwise the disappointment would have been way worse.
