I remember calling him crazy with his 2012 forecast of 75cm in Abbotsford....then it ended up verifying.

I don't recall 75 cm of snow in Abbotsford in 2012. I had probably around 20 cm at one point though. Would have loved 75 cm.

The progression on the 18z seems really similar to Jan 96. Just about a week later in timing.

The mountains, while having a decent snow year so far, have been pathetic temperature-wise. Struggling just to get below -1C or -2C.

Yep. 850mb temps have not dropped at all this winter.

It's been just about cold enough for the mountains to well and be average/slightly above average for snowfall thus far.

18z GEFS looking good. Retrogression signal a little sooner.

The ridge is a notch further east. This may work in our favour. The Greenland block is also stronger and further west.

Yeah honestly, it is a bit of a miracle they haven't had too much rain. Lots of borderline snowfall but it has worked out. Now if we can just get a prolonged cold period...

I didn’t follow things as closely back then but from what I remember the Euro caved first but was ignored because the GFS was so consistent. Euro was right.

That really rocked afew members l recall especially Leighbugs, the forums really got quiet after that.

If you remember way back in the day, Weatherpro used to broadcast his webcam and thermometer online from the corner of Grandview and Renfrew. At that time when Nito was still known as nito, Nito lived in Surrey, before moving to New West. I used to know Weatherpros real first name but have now forgotten. He moved to Edmonton for some weather related job, but he left his family in Vancouver. At one point Weatherpro launched his own forum with his own forecasts that you could ask him for if you were willing to donate or something. Of course, it didn't work out. Now he only pays us a visit when it seems worth it. The legend continues...

Yeah l remember those day's, entertaining to say the least. Man has this forum come along way since then.
