We were in Mission of course and l recall we had at least 55cm. I'll never forget a week away how the models flipped and El Nito came on the old forums after being out for dinner and was absolutely stunned at what the models were showing.
The 7th annual snowfall contest is canceled due to no snow this winter.

I remember Chilliwack getting hammered too.

Even after the overrunning event on the 9/10th washed away a lot of the snow, we still had quite a bit left (first few cm on the ground was still from early Dec). Here's a picture I took on Feb 12, 2017 at ~80m in elevation.

It's been blustery here all day as well, we're far enough away from the water that we haven't had any gusts above 30 but some of the garbage cans went walkabout today

Those control runs always seem to be spitting out some fantasy arctic outbreak.

Yeah, this was up the hill from my place (near riverview elementary). I'm a lot further down the hill but still can see golden ears and burke mountain pretty clearly.

On the topic of winter '16-17, this was the scene near my place in east coquitlam (elevation ~20m) on Jan 4th, 2017. Snow had been on the ground for a month at this point.

Typeing3 wrote: Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:34 pm Extreme cold and snow go hand in hand in our region though. Without major cold, it's extremely rare to score extreme snow.

I'm struggling to think of any regionwide extreme snowfalls (30-40+cm in one day or 50-60+cm in two/three days) without extreme cold already in place, or pushing into the region.
Are you talkin extreme cold while snowing? If so what's your temp cut off ? I remember 3 days of almost non stop snowfall in 90 or 91 with temps hovering around -3°. Don't think we get much snow around here when temps are colder than -7 as skies usually clear up with a strong ridge.
