Just goes to show how far modelling has come.
Or how our climate has indeed warmed. Or it just sucks like 2020 did.

So what's the chance of seeing snowflakes later this week like the forecast is showing for the valley?

I agree.

I think it really has to with the advancement in modelling. The clown range runs rarely if ever verified. Therefore, it was obviously errors in the long range. However, as modelling technology has improved and resolution has increased, we are able to look further into the future with better accuracy.

That said, I do miss seeing some of those clown range arctic blasts. Its still nice to be entertained sometimes.

I never bought into the idea of more snow next week to begin with. I did not see any signals in the models to suggest it.

Mid-late January is when I expect to see solid chance of arctic air and snow.

Currently 5.8C here, breezy and melty.

Data problems continue at YXX... temp and snowfall is showing up as missing for the 21st and 22nd. They are showing a low of -6.2C for the 24th which seems pretty suspect, and strangely a high of exactly 1.8C on both the 23rd and 24th. I don't really trust anything here, except for maybe the snow depth which they're showing as 10 cm as of yesterday.

High today was 4ËšC. Now 2.8ËšC and falling.

Nito, what happened to that 8ËšC high?
It's called clown range for a reason.
