The last time you said this, it snowed today. I think we're good for a snowy winter!wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 8:49 pm It's over now. Ridging and split flow until March and we should see many troughs until forest fire season.

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
What an interesting day today! Snowfall from Vancouver Island all the way into the interior!
This system DID surprise as it delivered even south of Richmond. Many areas where hit that seemed they would have been missed and some areas missed out like North Vancouver and Downtown. The suburbs did well as usual, and the Valley seems to be doing extra well. It was nice to see this system deliver when it could have busted real easy.
Ok, so for now we will see some sunny skies and chilly nights. I believe some more surprises are coming this week and into next, similar to today.
Keep an eye on those systems and models!

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Yeah, that prediction went well. I mentioned about the same thing in the American forum last week. Simply observed that model accuracy had been so poor recently so it was as unwise to give up on December just because the models looked crappy. It's the flipside of getting all excited over a few clown range runs that look snowy.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Good block setting up at the end of this run. Maybe early to mid January we will see cold, similar to last year?
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

I wouldn’t mind another batch of squeaky-cold powder snow!
