So it's changed back over to snow here, and begun to re-accumulate. It's snowing lighter than before but I had a few hours of wet sloppy sleet. It never changed to rain earlier.

So I have 5 cm on the driveway, 10 cm on the grass, and 7.6 cm on the deck. Which total should I use on my daily weather report spreadsheet?

Just took a quick drive up to the top of Seymour and it is of course a winter wonderland up there.

-1.5C and light snow. It was snowing down to around 300m elevation, which is kinda surprising, although there was slushy snow on the ground at Mt Seymour Parkway.

But yeah, the top is gorgeous now. I saw 3 cars in the ditch: two rear-end first, the other head first. Saw quite a few cars up there that shouldn't be driving up there! :fire: :fire: :fire:
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Probably deck unless you have a snowboard on your lawn.

Yes. Driveway total will be too low because of melting. Lawn total will be too high because some of it will be the ruler compressing the grass. Closest thing to a snow board is measuring off the deck.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Out of those three I would go with the deck for sure. Other good options are patio table, wooden platform, or even even the top of a fence.

It is very wet snow. Earlier today I heard branches starting to break in the woods at Lake Terrell and there was only about 5 cm accumulated at that time. It was one of the reasons I decided to wrap up my walk and leave. Given what a modest amount of wet snow was starting to do, I would hate to be there during an ice storm!
