Thanks Rubus.

It was just a feeling I had with the way things were evolving that we were due for a surprise or two.

GEM/RGEM/HRDPS has strengthened the low and jumped north a touch too.

Late morning and afternoon precip rates look pretty intense over the lower mainland. Still thinking rain below 100m but could see pockets of heavy wet snow over higher elevations.

Looks like temps dip below freezing later tomorrow night. Could be lots of ice out there Tuesday morning after all the rain/slush tomorrow.

As I recall, the GFS didn’t do well with precip totals last year. The GEM as normal was a bit high and the NAM was kind of in between with erratic spikes from model to model.

I still have a feeling we are going to see rain and mixed slop. Snow ratio more like 2 to 1. Could be similar to last year with snow stopping at Sumas.

Enjoy the snow tomorrow John. You guys in the eastern valley will do pretty well.

For those of us west of Chilliwack below 100m... cold rain and maybe 1-2cm of slush.

The HRDPS actually shows a skiff of snow in Metro Vancouver now. I think we're going to get some surprises tomorrow.
