The moment I saw that energy with the trough splitting....the moment I knew that system would probably hit Eugene.

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
I've taken some heat even for an intentionally misspelled version of something. I've always thought that without censorship these words would lose their impact. Although to be fair I learned from a lifetime in in hockey dressing rooms so my casual swearing is probably way too frequent.
Thats crazy about your 3 year old though! Even i wasn't swearing yet at that age. I'm sure she'll learn in time

That is all we can do Jr.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 2:51 pm I know models don't look great as of yet for us but one promising thing is the persistent -NAO. If we can keep that up and get the PNA to go negative, then we will be in business. Having the EPO drop negative would be even better. -PNA/-EPO/-NAO would be awesome.
Hope for the best but expect the worse in our climate.
And as long as we have a bit of fun along the way then its all good.

Any day is a good day if you are able to see weather above ground.

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Thats my concern with the American forums. Do they even have fun? For at least some, it seems to be a stressful hobby that they get far too emotionally invested into. Sports fans can fall into that as well. Its about balance. Having fun but not allowing an unwanted outcome to put you into a depressive episode.

That's Sunday overnight though. Not when anyone was expecting snow.

Definitely a team with an impressive record of wins.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Rob: "18z OP. One word, "Anafront", but they are very tricky to forecast where the exact narrow corridor(usually) of moisture sets up, does temps aloft cool enough? do the gradients turn flat which is needed or perhaps light easterly/northerly, and are precip rates heavy and steady enough to progressively draw the snow level towards the surface. No idea. Stay tuned. Probably not. No. Stay tuned."
ANUSFRONT? Sounds like the northern side could see a sloppy mix and get dumped on.
STAY TUNED. CMON. DJ DROPPIN SAYS STAY TUNED!!!!

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
From the NWS:
.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...A cold front and cold upper
trough will arrive Monday. The Monday weather system has a range of
interesting possibilities, but for now the forecast is a blend of
the solutions and doesn't reflect the 12z wrfgfs idea for heavy
precip behind a cold front dragging down the snow level. After that,
there is a good chance that a period of drier weather will develop
for two or three days next week. 19
