People are selfish and refuse any measures that may bring a slight inconvenience until they are impacted. Look at climate change as an example.

Yeah, kinda sucks, but its looking like no Whistler trip during Christmas break for us this year.

No Vanderhoof at the inlaws. No cross country skiing out of the front door, no sledding from the garden to the pond. No powder snow at Murray Ridge or Powder King. Though, no 12 hour drive either.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Three of them going off at the same time is a real treat as well. Two of them wailing at the same time is hardly tolerable. Took the fam up to Sasquatch on Sunday just for a change--no skiing, just to experience snow. With three kids now age four and under we were going crazy and had to get out of the house. . My four-year-old son cried when we had to leave since he was really loving the snow.

Bunch of excuses from hawk. You shouldn't be going to the cabin and going that far that's the orders. Who cares if you stand 10 feet apart that's risky and dumb.

But hey what do I know. Not like it's mandated orders
Yes that's good. This isn't North Korea where you need special permission to travel; and if it comes to that, people shouldn't take that crap without a fight...

As for me, I have driven to Whistler (which is in VCH zone) quite a few times the past 1.5 months.

By the way, they aren't "orders". They are recommendations.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Ok. But then why are the ski hills open? Do you mind people going skiing with their family if its in their health zone? I just don't know if I can call someone out considering I participated in something similar. Masks are required at ski hills and lifts are regulated to just your bubble.

The travelling to a cabin thing, i'd call that in the grey zone as she continues to tell people to go outside but advises against travel. Mental health is in crisis mode for people. Suicides are a serious risk especially with people dealing with our dreary ass weather alone. Going and playing in the snow in the woods is not the same as going and visiting friends and family. Some people are just going to defy the orders, the least we can hope for is they are safe and respectful of local health zones.

Mid range improvement on the 00z. Could see a shot of chilly air next Tuesday and Wednesday.

I'm wondering if we are entering a period where there could be some surprises along the way?
