Everyone says that when a ridge is forecast, but only some ridges lead to that. We shall see.

I will hike to a mountaintop above it all on Christmas Day if it happens.

The ridge is placed directly overhead, the winds are flat and there is a temperature inversion. All of the ingredients are there, but of course it isn't a guarantee.

ECMWF weeklies from 2 weeks ago.

Models keep advertising a pattern change in the 3-4 week window with heights building over GOA but keep defaulting to that AK vortex within the 2 weeks period.
