Well that’s disappointing
It was snowing at 430 and even saw some white on the ground.
Now... it’s only fallen pineapples and coconuts.

Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Seems about right lol not surprising.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 8:37 am It transitioned from -1ËšC and clear to 3ËšC and rain showers here overnight. Not a flake. Also not a surprise. I’ve seen this sort of thing happen many times before, and it was always a marginal set-up at best.
All about them Cowboys !!!

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Very mild morning here... 4.6C and raining lightly now.
Judging by the radar, the main precipitation is still 2 hours away. That's an additional 2 hours of daytime heating. It's hard to imagine there will be any snow at all by then.

Re: December 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Its true. The models sort of sucked again. But on the positive side, the snowpack is building strongly. With a few brief periods of rain up there in between, its mostly snow at the high elevations and it will probably stay that way being a La Nina. Last year's snowpack didn't arrive until New Years eve or so. I'll be up there tomorrow. I should be dusting my skis off any minute now

1999/2000! A whole winter where 850mb temps never really dropped below -5C but the Mountains still did well.PortKells wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 10:30 am Its true. The models sort of sucked again. 1998/1999 was the craziest. Baker recording over 26 meters of snow. A lot of it at the base didnt melt at all before the next winter.

global warming and our west coast ridging do that for us.
