We shall see. Multiple factors have to line up for us to get a cold inversion in this area. They are far easier to get in the valleys further east.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I’m really looking forward to my 2cm of forecasted slush while I’m sleeping.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..

Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

The long range CFS is a delight. The ensembles seem to be alright too at hour 360. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about January. If its the real deal we should start seeing some GFS teasers soon.

I believe that you will receive some nice snow tomorrow in the am..no slush festival. This should be your first "Elevated" Score since your   Move

ECMWF doing away with any dry spell. 10 straight days of measurable precip. Drizzle and rain with temps between +7 and +10. We are bound to see an extended period of ridging late Dec into Jan.

New York sees a major snowstorm.

Lots of wet mountain snow and freeze-thawing. Compaction will be an issue...good news is that forms a decent base but the bad news is this will result in conditions conducive to avalanches later on in the winter.

Another day, another let down. Some small good news is that the EPO and PNA both trend negative with the NAO also being firmly negative at hour 360. Time to play the extrapolation game?

I guess it depends how cold you are looking for. Inversions are pretty common in the winter. Not rare at all. Unless you are looking for Columbia basin cold pool numbers.

No reason to not like our chances in January at this point. West coast ridging flattens late December and rebounds to our west around New Years. I’m feeling it!
