Yeah, this ridging is definitely welcome. I doubt there will be much fog on the North Shore (it's pretty rare here) but Burnaby, Surrey, etc will probably have some foggy days.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 10:45 am No decent signals anywhere to indicate any meaningful change over the next 2-3 weeks. I am looking forward to dry conditions.

I sure hope the CFS maintains its cold outlook in the 1000 hour range. Its about the only eye candy we get right now.

Re: November 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
This ridge is looking insane. Historic winter confirmed?
Edit: Wow! The CFS pivots and actually shows Sea level snow falling within 310 hours. Hope is alive.
C'MON!
Re edit: It must be that the CFS maps are too low of resolution. It seems to show snow on a lot of frames where the 500 and 850 mb maps don't really justify.

Completely agree. No signs of a favourable pattern for us until late December at the earliest.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 10:45 am No decent signals anywhere to indicate any meaningful change over the next 2-3 weeks. Maybe we will luck out and see some snow for Christmas but I'm doubtful. Pattern will likely revert to seasonal W/NW flow after mid Dec.

I don't have any problem with him hyping up model runs. After all, it is a forum for weather enthusiasts. The point is to have fun.Weather101 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 4:41 pm He's delusional and I'm going to call him out if he keeps it up
My problem, however, is when he starts causing drama when people are even the slightest bit skeptical of his bold historic potential predictions. He can have fun but he seems to not understand the fact that people don't have to agree with his predictions.

Re: November 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
I think you took my post in the wrong way. If he was hyping them up that's fine. The issue is he starts attacking people who use common sense and can clearly see there is nothing there. He also sets himself up for disappointment which happens every year and he actually seems to get really depressed over it. He needs to learn to set his expectations lower and not wish cast. One year people were actually worried about his well being and if he was okay. The other issue I have with him is his predictions like you said are bold and honestly really stupid. It's really hard to take him seriously when he's wanting a 100 freezes a winter lolAbbyJr wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 5:22 pm I don't have any problem with him hyping up model runs. Chilly NW flow for the last third of December. Fringe snow setup for the higher hills (150m+). Book it.
