Going all the way back to when the first station opened in 1872, I think that the coldest days on record in southern BC occurred in:Typeing3 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:15 pm We need a couple days to break into this list this winter!

1) Dec 1968
2) Jan 1950
3) Jan 1875
Quite a bit of margin of error with the 1875 one because of so few stations so it could be in any of the top 3 spots.

Jan/Feb 1893 could be on that list too.Glacier wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:52 pm Going all the way back to when the first station opened in 1872, I think that the coldest days on record in southern BC occurred in:

Agassiz recorded a high of -16.7c on January 30th, 1893 and -19.4c on February 2nd, 1893.
Jan 1909 was basically just as cold as well. The 7th/8th/9th had highs of -18.9c, -20.6c and -18.9c in Agassiz

For what it’s worth, my coldest day last January had a high of -7.2ËšC. Apparently YVR was a degree or so warmer, but it was a probably a near miss. Better luck this winter!Typeing3 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:15 pm We need a couple days to break into this list this winter!

Re: November 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Where does a high of -7.2c at BLI rank? I'd wager you guys have seen colder days than Vancouver given the location in a more direct outflow path.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 7:21 pm For what it’s worth, my coldest day last January had a high of -7.2ËšC.
