Very strong winds aloft. Gradients rather impressive yet that hasn't translated into strong sustained winds at the surface.

Well it appears they've now canceled the wind warning at YXX... Perhaps that means there's more wind coming lol!

Orientation and trajectory of the low plus a broadened pressure field. Development of secondary low on the occluded front played a role in that.

The trajectory of the system wasn't great for us, there were no strong pressure rises in the wake of the cold front, plus the parent low was just too far away.
