Re: November 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
The past decade's storms have all seemed pretty anemic barring one or two, to be honest. Most of the time winds are over-predicted it seems I often get far stronger gusts from the Northwesterlies in the wake of what should be the main storm.

Could flip back, plus its still November. Having the ski hills open by Dec 1 would be pretty insane given how the last few Decembers outside of 2016 have been.

That's a really good point, Seems as most of the strong winds are in the wake of the storm.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 6:59 pm The past decade's storms have all seemed pretty anemic barring one or two, to be honest. Komo
A very deep low, which has roots as a former tropical storm, is set to pull into our part of the west coast after dark, bringing winds of 50 to 65 mph to the Northwest, and giant, erosion-causing waves near the ocean beaches topping 30'! Like a hurricane, the Northwest location that deals with the brunt of the damage will be very track dependent: if the low comes in over the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Puget Sound will need to brace for damaging winds. However, if the low swings south and comes in closer to Astoria, we'll see breezy conditions around our own metro area, but Portland and western Oregon will deal with the much stronger, damaging gusts that night instead.
