With the track at face value, it'd most likely be a slam dunk snowstorm later in December or January if we had some arctic air in the interior to work with.

It handled the October windstorm well too. We will have to see how it tracks the low once we get in range of it.

18z GFS has the low tracking somewhere between Tofino and Port Renfew on a W-E track but instead it slides SE and landfalls on the Olympic peninsula by Friday evening, later tracking over the Puget sound.

Nowhere does it show this but I have to believe Nanaimo, Campbell River and Port Alberni get dumped on with snow. At least 15cm up near Sutton Pass.

Komo

But it is Friday's storm that raises some concern. Models have been consistent in showing a deepening area of low pressure off the Pacific with a forecast track that has the potential of bringing strong, potentially damaging winds to Western Washington Friday into Saturday. There is still plenty of time for this storm to evolve and just the slightest change in storm track could make a big difference in location and magnitude of the strongest winds. In any case, this possible wind storm has our attention in the KOMO Weather Center and we will be giving you the very latest as we hone in on the forecast details. Stay tuned

My thinking as well. Central and eastern Vancouver island often score significant snowfalls with strong lows taking a similar track

Or Sutton Pass. That’s the score zone!
