Matter of time before a snowfall warning is issued. EC may go with 5-10cm of snow at higher elevations.

Remember that EC tends to go higher to account for variations in our terrain. Westwood Plateau and Burnaby Mountain could see 10cm. Probably 2-5cm at lower levels.

So what are you seeing as the snow level? 150m?

Maybe. Not a ton of moisture coming and low ratios, though.

Yeah, 10-15 mm of precipitation across the lower mainland and not all of that will be snow. 2-5cm seems like a reasonable call.

The situation is going to be interesting for sure. I can see a few CM of overnight snow on elevations above 150M Higher areas may see a bit more. Sea level looks to miss out. Abbotsford could pick up a CM or so. Again at this time of year the ground is still fairly warm which will cause faster melting. Watch for wet bulb! DP is already pretty good so if it stays where it is, it will snow for sure.
:whee:
Honestly, as exciting as it is to see our first flakes of the season, I'm more intrigued by the potential for a widespread damaging windstorm Friday. What are your thoughts on that?

100m. But accumulating wet snow down to 50m in the Northern areas.

WRF tends to overdo moisture so thinking 2-4cm is reasonable.

Oh for sure but I am just thinking what EC issues as they have a history of going higher with amounts in warnings now.

Thanks. Jr might be too pre-occupied with the pup to ask questions so I'm filling in today.

You mean northern areas as in north of the Fraser? So I have a shot at 72 m?

I'll be excited to see snow flakes, even if it doesn't stick. :D :D
