All the more fun if you tented it, which is what my wife and I did up there in middle of Oct many years ago, actually it wasn't fun as we froze our buns off, never again, but it was sunny and fairly mild during the day, fishing was good at lightning lake as the trout congregated in a little bay close to rainbow bridge, one of my favourite places, the trail at the end of the lake is where I saw first and only porcupine, also saw a large moose nearby.

Did the outflow keep temps so far up that there was no frost in the Valley? We had a pretty heavy frost this morning in Vancouver at about 1C.

2.0C in YXX with 37% humidity and a NE wind gusting to 70kmh. It might be too dry for frost but there is a decent chance that things are already freezing up at ground level with those obs.

Outflow is actually increasing tonight. Gusting to 68 at both YXX and YYJ. I think this is a night time phenomenon. Maybe someone else knows but doesn’t the outflow sometimes become more shallow but stronger after the sun goes down?

Wet bulb is certifiably below freezing... temp is down to 1.5C, so I think a freeze is not out of the question. No doubt there will be some impressive lows in sheltered areas.

It was down to 0.3 earlier but up to 1.9 now as the breeze comes and goes. If it stays clear we will probably see a solid freeze here tonight. The outflow wind almost always dies off here overnight at some point.

+0.2 tonight. The car windshield was frozen over this morning and I had ice on water buckets, same thing Thursday morning. Friday was warmer.
