I don't follow his predictions enough to know his track record, but I do find his unwillingness to speak in a language we all understand to be rather frustrating.

He's definitely smart but it comes across as if he just wants to show off how smart he is rather than help others learn.
Bingo my friend. He never tries to explain what he is saying and he's mainly always wrong lol he doesn't even live in this area as well and always uses the excuse "Well I don't know your climate good enough" lol.

So I put in all the moderate El Nino analogs since 1950 into the 20th century reanalysis and this is the result:

Looks like a wet zonal flow but whats interesting, given moderate El Nino conditions, was that the temperatures were below average.

November is climatologically the stormiest month of the year for us, so it makes sense anyway that we would get lots of storms.

I’ve tried to engage him into explaining what he means, and while sometimes I have had success, he typically has little interest in it. And even when he does engage, he quickly reverts back to serving piping hot bowls of acronym soup to the forum.

Last year, he was mystified about why so many folks on the West Coast wanted our mountains to get a good snowpack. “Why? It’s not as if you live in the mountains. Why should you care?”

Try removing 68-69 and see what you get.

It genuinely seemed to be news to him when people started explaining that.

It also genuinely seemed to be news to him when people then explained how much Washington’s agricultural sector is based east of the Cascades, in dry climates, making agriculture heavily dependent on irrigation, and how important agriculture was to the state’s economy. The role of stream flows in maintaining salmon fisheries also seemed to be news to him.
It's called clown range for a reason.

lol I think he doesn't really has a outside life and he wants to be smarter than everyone on the forum that's why he has no Interest in explaining. I don't see the point of making all these replies he does if he doesn't care to explain to anyone what he really means ? It's pointless.

Lol my exact point on why he doesn't understand our climate and is usually wrong and gets people's hopes up. I feel sometimes he just starts confertation. I think he has been caught lying about his life a few times it got personal.

Phil is a nutjob. His forecasts are always centered around unproven theories.

I believe he once said I was “the dumbest sack of sh!t in the multiverse”. So ya he’s pretty “nice”. It was because I said forest fires can burn underground under the snow over the winter and re emerge in the spring. He said that was not possible.
