I agree, Rather have the cold in later November and December so we are possibly talking snow not rain and 500M snow levels at this time of year.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 2:51 pm Love the +PNA spike. Massive early cold snap in the East and we may get warm dry weather into Nov.
Hold off on the cold here. The most you might get is cold rain and 500m snow levels with the pattern that was depicted in the models few days ago.

I still think a notable cold snap is coming in the next 10 days or so. We will see.

Cool and showery all day here on the mainland. Actually had a decent period of fairly heavy rain around ~8-11am. Recorded a high of 13.3c.

It’s a pretty arid climate here during NW flow.

Could be. Although, have the nights been cloudier than normal so far this fall? I’m not sure, seems like we’ve seen a fair bit of clear weather. The blob debate seems like a tough this to clearly prove one way or the other.Weather101 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 6:34 pm Blob keeping our temps up at night ? Everyone seems to agree that when the interior turns colder than normal and the wind blows from the interior then it turns colder than normal on the coast. Not sure why the same couldn’t be applied in the opposite direction. If things are warmer than normal over the ocean to our west and the wind is blowing onshore, then I’d believe things would be warmer here on the south coast.

oh, I believe the blob has a impact on our weather for sure that I don't dispute one bit. I believe it does keep us warmer than normal, But for this autumn season so far I don't believe it has had any impact on our nightly temperatures but that's just my opinion.Monty wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 7:11 pm Could be. I mean right now I'm sitting at 12c under cloudy skies again.

Mostly clear and 15C here. It is a mild evening with the breeze now subsiding.Weather101 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 8:36 pm oh, I believe the blob has a impact on our weather for sure that I don't dispute one bit. Re: October 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Another question I would be curious to ask, Are the normal temps we look at really "normal"? As in with the climate being warmer does our average temperatures reflect the change in our climate. You got to environment Canada's page and it shows the average temperature but I feel like the last 10 years the days and nights have been naturally warmer due to rising climate.

Definitely progressive though. Brunt of the cold slides east. Nice to look at still.
