Just got back home from spending most of the week camping in Okanogan County, where I can report that the vegetation is literally dried to a crisp in many cases. Thankfully did not notice even a single idiot laboring under the delusion that campfires are appropriate in such conditions (the dozens of “burn ban” and “no campfires” signs doubtless helped). Sort of a surprise the Christie Mountain fire hasn’t exploded out of control, given that dryness.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Models really trying to lock in some intense heat. The GFS has 36C and a humidex rating of 43 on September 7th. :o

That, and looks like this ridge may lock in a while or at least rebuild quickly if it weakens. Summer in September possible. :D

Good weather for my new electric bike though it may be a bit hot. Water bottle holder will be put to good use. :D  8-)

6.1C at my house this morning... new August record for me. :o

I'm guessing that'll be as low as it gets for another few weeks.

Nice to see a little rain coming down from the NW. Although not much this will be the last measurable precip for awhile. Latest cfsv2 has the pattern breaking down not until around the 20th.

The GFS has thankfully scaled back the heat by a bit.

I was in Nanaimo yesterday. It rained a good deal there. Looks like almost nothing fell over here.

No fire bans here on the Canadian side of the border. First time in a while we made it all summer without a fire ban!

BTW, I found this fossil two weeks ago...

Sorry, that's not weather related, so here is a nice sunset that mrs. Glacier took at her grandparent's place in the Chilcotin.
