Yesterday was even hottest than the day before! At least here in the Okanagan. You guys on the coast had a nice cool breeze that dropped you 5 degrees from Monday...

28C here now. Feels very nice! Loving this "heat" for I know it will be gone all too soon and replaced with 16C and endless clouds.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

I'll believe it when I feel it. Have lived here for half a century and have yet to experience any high humid type heat that even comes close to what they get back east.

Vancouver seldom sees a humidex value greater than 35... only once in the last 25 years, during the infamous 2009 heat wave.

Humidex values near 40 are fairly common in the valley, though.

Have we seen a 40 degree reading yet this year? Today could be the day. Probably somewhere in the canyon. Lytton, Spences bridge, Ashcroft.

Max is 39.3°C in Lytton. Yes, there's a chance today.

Upper level temps are getting up there but not sure if the surface details will work out. Possibly some cloud cover riding up the cascades this afternoon too

False. The July 12th, 1961 value is garbage and fake along with almost all values recorded then including the supposed 53.4 set at Castlegar (which would be the highest ever recorded in Canada).

The all time record high humidex at Abbotsford is 44, set 2006-07-21 16:00:00 PDT.

How many 40 or greater in the past?

Since 1953 there have been 103 hours of 40 humidex. 67 of those hours occurred in just 4 years, 1981 (21 hours), 1998 (12 hours), 2006 (9 hours) and 2009 (25 hours).

74% of years have zero 40 humidex days.

The last 40 value was recorded 2018-08-08 16:00:00 PDT.

I just noticed that you said Agassiz and not Abbotsford. I will give you that one... it was 46 in 2006!
