I was in Calgary last Wednesday, 92.8!!

I wouldn't have so much of an issue with our extra taxes if they were actually directed towards transit and road infrastructure. just going into general revenue annoys me

it could be worse though here in Ladner, it seems there are new owners of the 7-11 and they are quick to drop prices between $0.05 and $0.08/litre every once in a while prompting some of the others to follow.

Yeah, but then it would be much easier to hold the government accountable for how the money is spent - we can't have that now, can we.

Another good example is the Medical Services Plan. Most people assume that it goes toward our health care system, but it actually goes directly into general revenue (and I'm sure the Employer Health Tax that replaces it will be the same).

Let's not get started on ICBC and how the former government siphoned off millions into general revenue.

As far as I'm concerned, there should be a law that government cannot implement a tax under the guise of one thing only to use the money for something else.

i've got to wonder how much of that is speculation at this point. I know speculation seems crazy at this price but I haven't heard anything that says they've figured out the production issues and eps has only just turned positive. granted I hope they continue to do well but I'm a bit cynical after 25 years in the investment business.
