All the stations in the area recorded 2 to 3 mm last night. Well, not a big storm.

Re: May 2020 Forecasts and Discussion
Last night's storms were fast moving. They didn't stall so that probably explains the low rainfall totals. I had some brief intense downpours but they were very short in duration.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 8:14 am All the stations in the area recorded 2 to 3 mm last night. Re: May 2020 Forecasts and Discussion
That may bode well with us this upcoming winter as it usually takes some time for us to feel the effects of ENSO. So if we can get a solid La Nina developing by summer, then by winter we will be all set for cold and snow.
Personally, I still feel that a hot summer is on the table this year. I just have that feeling but we'll see.

I hope not. Minimal rainfall with average high/lows of 30C/10C in July and August would be lovely.

Re: May 2020 Forecasts and Discussion
FWIW, at face value, that would be the strongest Nina since 2010-11. Anomalies peaked at -1.69 that winter.stuffradio wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 8:04 am ECMWF seasonal forecast showing La Nina conditions developing this summer and CFS supporting it. nino34Mon.gif
