Just had a very very loud and sharp crack of thunder here. Never heard one like that before.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Unprecedented times, what the heck is a MCV/QLCS? Coming to work this afternoon white from hail @ Whatcom and Hwy. I observed at 4:15p.m.

Re: March 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Hubby and I went throw Williams lake yesterday. We drove to Hixon the night before to pick up out new pup and we were a little on edge that it was snowing lightly and we only had summer tires on our motor home. Luckily it was dry snow so it didn’t stick as we drove through.Sardisbcwx wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2020 9:59 pm Arctic air is south of Williams Lake 0c @ 5p.m. -6c @ 9p.m. with strong NW winds.

Re: March 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
Now that’s crazy! I thought the outflow event we had earlier this month was atypically late! And we had outflow winds in late September as well.Sardisbcwx wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 6:08 am The modified arctic front is forecast to reach the central valley early Wednesday morning accompanied by gusty outflow winds (no joke) we could set a record low for Thursday morning as well.
What’s next? A multi-year “outflow drought†where we see nothing more than fleeting accumulations of slush in the winter? (Sure hope not!)
It's called clown range for a reason.
