Yeah mountains getting hammered. Boy this sucks - all I want is warm weather now, and we can't even go out in groups - so stupid. I'm whining about the situation, not the reasoning behind it. Hopefully models shift in a few days. I'm sick and tired of the cold now. What a waste of the end of the ski season - would have been amazing out there right now.

During the night the radar was absolutely insane with reds/yellows that disapated before they reached the Lower mainland.

Yeah, sounds typical. When it's already red/yellow over the Southern Island it will dissipate before hitting us 90% of the time. We need the development to happen just before it reaches us.

Yeah that figures El Nito was sort of right he said last night cape values were good for development just a little to far west. Saw a rainbow tonight at work a sugn of hope.

4 am this morning was wild, windy with rain or hail, woke me up. Nothing today except a bit of sun, lots of overcast and a light drizzle

The modified arctic front is forecast to reach the central valley early Wednesday morning accompanied by gusty outflow winds (no joke) we could set a record low for Thursday morning as well. :o

Saw lightning and heard weak thunder near Burnaby Mountain about 7-8 minutes ago. Must have been an intra-cloud flash because I didn't see it on Kachelmannwetter's (weather.us) lightning detection map. I guess the moisture inflow is hitting Burnaby Mountain and creating thunderstorms through orthographic lift. The cold low centered equidistant between Haida Gwaii and Vancouver Island is steering cold NWlies at the surface. But I wonder where the moisture flow is coming from. It's not shown on the surface model chart.

Just saw another lightning flash with another weak rumble of thunder 5:35pm. Thick raindrops are beginning to fall
