I could not believe the difference in temperature and overall feel between Saturday and today. Saturday had highs barely above freezing here, and well into the negative single digits once you factored in the wind chill. Today was in the mid teens with almost no wind... you could get away with short sleeves. It was like going from January to April in the span of 48 hours.
YXX recorded a wind chill of -12C at 9 am Saturday and an afternoon temperature of +14C at 5 pm today.
Yeah. My high today was 15C. Feels like Alberta in terms of sudden temperature swings. I took my Motorino Electric Scooter out for a spin today for the first time this season. Yet, on Saturday afternoon I had to keep my hands tucked into my jacket and sweater to keep them from freezing.
I don't recall the last time I went walking in arctic outflow conditions and then went riding on my scooter 48 hours later. Insane.

Good timing for a dry streak. At least people can get out for a walk and get some fresh air.
I hope everyone on here and their families/friends stay safe during this unprecedented time.

March has been getting wetter over time, unlike the months around it. For example, March used to be the driest month of the year in the interior, but after next month, the 1991-2020 normals will show that BOTH February and April are drier!

The past 2 March's were drier than normal and it looks like it will be this year too but there were some very wet months of March in the last 20 years or so here on the south coast. Great to see a warm afternoon. I'm hoping for an early warm spell. It might help to slow the coronavirus. Cliff Mass had a very interesting blog about a correlation of the temperate climate of the Northern hemisphere (and the cool temperatures of late winter and early spring) and the worst outbreaks of the coronavirus. Time will tell if his stats are more than just a coincidence

This Coronavirus pandemic is really getting crazy. The food court in the mall I work at is now closed. However, my manager said we can keep our shifts and do detailed cleaning in the mall for the time being, which will be at least 2 weeks if not longer. All BC schools are closed, in fact I think schools are closed in most provinces now. I've never seen anything like this in my life.

Too bad about the ski season, but hard to be too disappointed given what some are facing.

Far too much hysteria and panic.
While this is a serious issue at home and abroad, the level of frenzy I see everywhere is not warranted. For example, Buying excessive amounts of toilet paper is not going to help anyone hoard off the virus or any other type of flu.

Your life? Try my life,almost double your age. We've had many illnesses and diseases that wiped out many people in a short period of time in the past including the Spanish flu in 1918,which apparently killed 50-100 million which I find difficult to wrap my head around. But did they shut everything down back then like they are now ? I don't know.
Oil prices are tumbling and Canadian dollar also crashing. We're down to 68 cents today. I could see the dollar dropping even further. Could we drop to as low as 60 cents? I don't think we've ever been below 60 cents in Canada's existence history. We could test that.
