Having looked at the EPS again, it really does not look that bad actually. There is still a strong -PNA signal shown. All that ridge needs to do is amplify and the trough push back west. Sure, its not nearly as good as it once looked but it certainly doesn't torch us either. In the worst case scenario, cool but not cold. February 2017 model shift can still happen. I recall the models looked crap until 5 days out and then they suddenly shifted to a cold and snowy pattern. While that outcome is rare and unlikely, there are still positive signals in the EPS.

We need a week of sun.
I think all these model runs think we are in the 1820's when it used to actually get cold here.

I agree Hound. Other than "5 days in Jan" what have we had for a winter here? Nothing. A few soggy days temps hovering around 0c for a cupla Slushfestival events. Those 5 days were great! The rest of winter so far :thumbdown: :thumbdown:
