Just drove home from Victoria. Roads were slushy and snow covered above about 100ft elevation. It was pouring ice pellets at times. Snow and ice pellet accumulation is 6.5cm here.

Well, we all got disappointed again. F this climate.

We were promised a major snowfall and it hardly lived up to it's hype.

It's been snowing non stop here for 16 hours without a break. Flakes were small most of the day, and when the flakes got bigger, they got too wet and heavy, and just kept melting. Actually the whole snowfall seemed to be melting as fast as it was falling or trying to accumulate. Total BS. This should have been a score for all of us.

Same thing every time. 1 degree colder and it would have done better. Ground was too warm.

I figure I have 10cm out there according to the fence post & rail. It's all melting off the trees though. Sounds like rain, but it's not raining.

Current:
Temp: -0.2
DP: 0
Wet snow falling.

Yeah a bust for most regions. Models really have a hard time with our complex terrain. I had 5cm of snow today.

On my tablet weather app the white rock weather station is reporting +1° and freezing rain.
And on my phone weather app the white rock weather station is reporting +1° and ice. :?:

Anyways time for bed , and I can't believe it's still snowing. I Guess the snowfall warning ended doesn't apply to me. :shh:
Overall I was quite pleased , don't get snowfall of this duration very often,18 hrs and counting ,albeit very wet snow.

I guess i would have about 15 cms here today if it was colder. So the precip amounts were bang on. Ground temps started too warm. Like I said, no arctic air to start = good luck on getting a nice snowfall. Slushfestival.. did I not call it? Enjoy!

Can't believe it is still snowing, when I walked the dog between 9 & 10 thought for sure the slush falling would end. Actually intensity must have picked up as whiter now than then.

I take it lower elevations of the tri cities were the big losers with this snowfall.

I only ended up with 3cm... probably even less closer to the water near Fraser mills or in poco along the Pitt River.

Can't believe it's still snowing in some areas. It changed over to rain just before 4pm here in East Coquitlam.

Currently 0.9C with moderate rain.

Yes I cant believe it's still snowing here either. Once it starts changing to rain in the LM..the rest follows.

Very unusual to see the snow hanging on so long. Its dry snow here too. Elevation is huge in this marginal event.

Unreal almost 3a.m. and the snow continues to come down steady down near Sumas. It almost looked like it was winding down only to pick up again and radsr continues to stream moisture into the valley even some yellows now near Abby. If it was a degree or 2 colder this would have an over achieving snow event.
The 7th annual snowfall contest is canceled due to no snow this winter.
