We've had some clear nights, but we haven't been able to radiate effectively due to the wind.

Anything warmer than -10C is lame for a winter low. Ideally, we want to see at least one day of -12C to -15C.
-10C does seem like a good benchmark for a cold snap.

Satellite looks promising. We will have to see where that band coming from the south decides to pivot tonight. Models shoes it turning from north south to more east west.

This is a true arctic blast Jr. December 29th, 1969. Arctic air comes directly from the north. 850mb temps between -25C and -30C over the Lower Mainland.

Kind of an odd setup with an ULL offshore. Seems more like something we would see more often later in the spring. Could see an extended period of precip if that band pivots before its too far north.

Cloud deck beginning to lower on Burke Mountain. I'd say it's down to about 800m now.

Still mostly dry here. Felt a few raindrops earlier.
