Huge win by the canuckles over the Stanley cup champions before embarking on another long road trip. Good news is that they'll have a lot more home games than road games after this trip. It'll be interesting to see if Benning does anything at the trade deadline. Sure hope he doesn't make any acquisitions that he can't afford or trade away draft picks or good prospects . They're already down a 1st rounder if they make the playoffs, I'm hoping they can a high round pick as the experts say it's a very deep draft year, and as good as they seem to be so far their rebuild is not over yet. You don't just want to make the playoffs but be contenders for the cup for years to come.

Enjoyed all the hockey chatter as well Gumps sorry I missed it, as you know I worked Saturday dayshift 5a.m. to 5p.m. and met up with Jr. so with all the excitement of the day I was pretty tuckered and nodded off early.

All it took was 2 words by Bono to breath life back into this thread  . Bono must be an oilers fun ever since he got picked up by Gilbert Brule while hitchhiking on the north shore a few years ago. That story still sounds unreal, like why was he hitchhiking to begin with, and in Vancouver of all places, and then gets picked up by a pro hockey player. :socool:

I thought you worked primarily on evening/graveyard shift.

Impressed with Canucks against the Sharks 5-2 win, their ability to grind it out and not give up. The past few years when there down a goal going into the third they would cave. Now there doing what other teams use to do to them. This is fun and l'm excited again.

They're still getting out shot though which is a bit of a worry , but they manage to come up with timely goals . They drive me nuts on the pk,they sure like playing the box and rely on blocking shots and great goaltending, wish they'd be more aggressive on the puck carrier like other teams are on their pp. The empty net specialists are hilarious.

Agree with you Gumps on all accounts, the one thing I noticed in todays game against the Islanders is they kept a lot of the Islander shots to the outside, aside from that Quinn Hughes continues to impress makes it look so easy and seamlessly, btw he's the top rookie in scoring now. On to Carolina on Super Bowl Sunday another breakfast with the Knucks   Whoohoo! flap jacks on tap with Mrs, Butterworths. 8-)
