Its true that models don't look as promising for us as they once did (though they still look decent.) I just think its crazy that Nito is so boldly confident in the east going into an ice box. I have not heard any other meteorologist say such a thing. Most seem concerned with the strong -PNA signal. I think Nito just likes to have fun with us. :lol:

FWIW. The modelled pattern reminds me a bit of December 2012. -PNA, cold Alaska, de amplified Aleutian ridge, warm and fairly ridgy out east. No blocking to the north and we never tapped into the arctic air.

Sometimes the good stuff shows up on short notice, as little as 3-4 days out. Thinking and remembering February 2017. Something good could pop up. Or not.
