We don't need a strong -EPO if we have a massive -PNA. In fact, a neutral to slightly -EPO combined with a tanked PNA is probably better for us in terms of low elevation snows. What often happens with strong -EPO blocks is that we get stuck with bone dry outflow.

As I mentioned earlier today, the 7th will be the next time period to watch.

This is what the gfs spit out, and it may be heading that way, perhaps not to that extreme.

I’ve heard the GFS called the Garbage Forecasting System before.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Mid range has really gotten milder. We are looking at a solid soaker at the end of the week with a day of mild Mountain rain. Plenty of high streams by Sunday!

Lowland snow is 8-10 days away now! ;)

I’m still amazed at how right it might end up being about the 3rd when every ensemble member said the opposite. It may not have been the outlier many of thought it was.
