I know some of us got a wee bit excited after some of those ice cold gfs runs but I think in the mid term we should hope for a period of cool/cold onshore flow.

Let’s see how that pattern performs in January since it’s been a while.

That's exactly what we hoping to get, if people are thinking for historic cold they should lower their expectations.

Pretty typical to get model noise before a regime change. If anything, we are heading into an active N/NW flow pattern. That has produced snow down to sea level before and will probably do so again. Exciting.

That flow pattern out of the GOA has always been great for producing really good snow dumps that don't turn to mush right away with no southern influence.

Honest question. Where does it show this? Their ensembles look warmer?

This Euro run is going to be epic because the AF will implode regardless. Just need the tension to amplify and the trough of emotions to swing through. Someone there will mention higher sun angles and will be plenty of discussions about a fucking cold pool developing and Rob will again cry and B*tch. Warm finger. Swamp. Think crazy!!!! CMON!!!!!!
