Flurry all morning on the local mountains.
That's the thing I don't quite get , the prairies and back east can get snow at -10 to -20 but here as soon as it hits -6 or colder you can fooogetaboutit.

No doubt we will see colder departures for Jan with a good ski season but a consolidated PV with no real blocking means no real "arctic" air intrusions. Today is an example of how it can snow without any source of arctic air. This appears to be a pattern we will see until mid-late Jan. Beats Mountain melting death ridging.
Way to early to make such a bold prediction.

I think the sticking snow level ends up around 300ft tonight. Give or take. Should mostly rain here. Snow levels 1000ft or so.

Haha. Well I mean I don’t put much faith in the weeklies or whatever it is that goes out that far. Just saying. It’ll be small details that set us up for snow. But if amplification, favourable low track, digging short wave. Those things aren’t going to show up on the ensemble. The 12z eps at day 15 still looks pretty favourable.

Precip overdone. You would see strong NE winds drying out the lower atmosphere halting precip at the border. Monty would get nailed.
