The blob is more influential than I anticipated. Also global warming played a part. #gretaWasRight.

It's beginning to look a lot... like a very normal and ordinary Christmas weather wise and under the tree.

Merry Christmas everyone, and may the new year bring some nice surprises.
Here's a little something for our animal friends.

6.3 earthquake just struck.. hitting on the plate
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/decembe ... nitude-6-3

This follows the number of earthquakes with a notable magnitude that hit the same area over the last 36 hours, and it is the strongest in the series.

Also looks like the plates are shifting.. could be in for some trouble

Oh, the weather outside is crappy,
And I don't want to disturb your nappy.
But here's some egg nog to sip,
Let it drip, let it drip, let it drip.

(I can't take credit for this; heard it on the radio years ago.)
It's called clown range for a reason.

Blob influential again. SFC temps would have been 1-2C with the cooling column (with dry air seeping above 925mb). Notice temps have been running a few degrees warmer with these troughs

Exactly. We won't be able to get low elevation snow even with a Maritime Polar Airmass with the blob in place. We need arctic air and offshore flow.
