Looks like the first week of January is a guessing game. 30c difference between ensemble members.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Re: December 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Yes Manning usual never gets the big dumps the Coq does. I drive through there often in mid Feb and it looks like maybe 4-5 feet on ground max on snowier years. No wonder they struggle to get people there.
But this year, one massive dump from this event has changed everything. Their base is outstanding for this time of year. If it continues wet and cool, they could have a banner season.
January 2025 incoming..looks like more Pineapples..Happy New Year!

Re: December 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Very sad to see the spike in 850 temps considering we are going into our coldest and darkest time of the year. My fave time for snows, with very little on the radar..pardon the pun.
The best part about these Needershlagees is that those temps spike after Day6. There is still hope buttees!

Re: December 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Seems to be difficult to get a overrunning event now.Sardisbcwx wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 2:13 am Well W101 as the years go you on you start getting use to it no need to fret it is what it is. Basically you enjoy whatever snow we get or decent winters, growing up with out fail we'd alway's get an over running event with a snowfall warning, now what do we get moderating temps. down to 3.0c and what will happen as soon as it's cool enough to snow the moisture will shut off.

It’s actually been warmer as you go east. Look at Paulson summit at 1450m. All rain the past 24hrs.

Re: December 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Don't feel too bad guys.
There's hardly any snow on the ground all over PEI right now. Not that December is that snowy there but there's usually a few cm on the ground.
At least their ground isn't soggy and they have sunshine though:

At least a couple weeks I think. Timing seems similar to last year.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 11:35 am Whats the lag time before we start feeling the effects of a SSW?

Re: December 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
I can confirm. 1 degree and cold rain, with the occasional snowflake mixed in all day yesterday.
