The Puntzi Mountain temperature was -48.8C for two days in a row. Not only does it set the new record for each day, but it records the coldest temperature since 1996. Can you imagine how cold it was in 1950!? If we add another 2.7 degrees (based upon Tatlayoko), we are up to -55.5C (68F), which would be the second coldest temperature ever recorded in BC (the abandoned town of Smith River, situated near the Yukon border, recorded 3 days colder than that during the all time extreme cold snap in 1947).
