Lots of rain coming once freezing levels spike this evening. Hopefully the snowpack doesn't take too much of a hit; fortunately it looks like the mountains will transition back to snow tomorrow morning.

Hawk wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2019 8:15 am Models always showing snow lol. What have we had this year? I'm at 0.5cm..most other areas West have 0.0cm. We will soon be at Xmas with nothing lmao. Another disaster winter. No surprise that 2019 is going down as 2nd warmest in history. Unless January makes up for all of Dec with huge snows and cold, it goes down as another sad Wetcoast winter = Nito wins hands down. Looks like splitty returns again, the fn Blob remains. :blowtor: :blowtor: FU Splitty and Blobby, FU.

Edit: How have Januarys been last several years?
Pathetic. Vancouver hasn't had more than 1cm of snow in January since 2012.

Back on topic the models are definitely over doing any pattern change which sucks. Moderates the temps soon as we get close and back to split flow. Gut feeling is late January so you can mark that down :D better late then never.

yeah I guess late January would be most likely at this point.

Yet another cold/snowy February (fourth in a row) would be very surprising.

Mountains were looking good all week. Temps will spike briefly but the damage is done. Many local mtns got 15cm to 30cm. High peaks will maintain the snow throughout.

The late January timeframe is when we're most due for cold/snow. We haven't had any snowfall at all in the Jan 21st-31st period since 2009. Even worse...the last subfreezing high and low below -10C in that period was way back in 1996.

And considering basically No Solar this year, we were due for January to score. Instead, the signs are very bleak. Hopefully the long range is wrong..its def possible the models are way off. Again, anything past 5 days is a crap shoot. Even your guys buttee Jay Albrecht said so 8-)
