Nevertheless, I think the "heat scale" is mild->warm->hot and I would not use hot in winter. Just my opinion and as you said, it's kind of semantics.

Snow still coming down hard on the North Shore mountains.

Pretty dark out there today.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays :clap:

Unfortunate that the freezing levels rise on Friday to at least the highest points on the north shore mountains.

Cloudy with a chance of rain and snow late in the morning, then rain and snow likely in the afternoon. Snow level near 3000 feet. New snow accumulation up to 1 inch.
Tonight
Rain and snow. Snow level near 2500 feet. Snow may be heavy at times. Snow accumulation of 4 to 9 inches.
Thursday
Rain and snow. Snow level near 3000 feet. Snow accumulation up to 4 inches. Total snow accumulation 4 to 14 inches.
Thursday Night

I think thats for mtns E and S of our mtns. For N. Shore mtns, snow levels "may" spike temporarily..but they won't see 1-3" of rain. I think it will mostly SNOW! YESSSSSSSSS. Small victories buttees. Did u get that from NWS?

Yes, this is the zone forecast for the west slopes of the north Cascades from NWS.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Next week is looking chilly with NW flow. Higher hills could see some snow.

Transition to rain will be brief. Mountains will turn to rain by tomorrow evening but switch back to snow by Friday morning with the passage of the cold front. With a strong low headed up the coast veering east to our south on Saturday, the mountains could be looking at well over 50cm when this is all set and done by Sunday.
