Still looks great. Operational models always flip flop.

Haven’t we done this 45 times before? Once the models lock into it it always waffles and comes back.

Wtf is going on over at wxmaps? It's virtually impossible to view the composite models, and they seem to only post every couple of days at 00z

I always find Michael Snyder to be the most objectively "middle of the road" in regards to these scenarios

:dunno:

Who knows what’s going to happen. Can’t get attached to each run good or bad. Wait a few days and things should look a bit more clearer.

Go back and read the threads leading up to the Feb 2019, Jan 2020, Dec 2021, Dec 2022, Feb 2023, Jan 2024. IMO we're good where we are. It won't be an epic generational event here but here in Vancouver I would bet on snow and a few cold days.

The difference is down to the energy/system near Hawaii that begins to drift northeastward towards the west coast and undercut the ridge.

The 12z GFS results in a colder solution for us as it weakens, and moves to the east towards California. This is in contrast with the 12z GEM and 12z ECMWF... it strengthens and moves northwards, merging with the system dropping down the coast that is in phase with the modified arctic boundary, resulting in the cold air remaining bottled up to our north.
