Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
The models are struggling. They keep flipping and flopping when there's a pattern shift. But it looks pretty solid we're getting some chilly and wet weather upcoming. We're overdue for a pattern shift into snow
January 2025 incoming..looks like more Pineapples..Happy New Year!

Pattern looks too progressive. Maybe a quick hit of slush and then back to your usual mild rain.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
There's so much spread in the ensembles so everything is on the table. If you want cold and snow then the trend of bringing cold air to the Yukon and Alaksa is a good first step. This would lead to your classic warm rain pattern abruptly shifting into cold maritime polar/arctic blast pattern.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Seems like this would be our last chance for something decent. Snow in March doesn't really do it for me.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 8:56 am There's so much spread in the ensembles so everything is on the table. Really hoping the timing moves up and stops getting pushed back.
I'm intrigued by the cold onshore flow pattern being modeled by the GFS. Those can bring some surprises and dump quite a bit of snow in spots. The big winner would be the mountains of course.

February has been our jackpot the last few years. Why stop that trend now?Catnip wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:27 am Seems like this would be our last chance for something decent. Snow in March doesn't really do it for me.
