Tell me about it! I've been here a couple of weeks. It's beautiful today, but man, it's been cold the whole month of January and will get even colder next week. I haven't experienced cold this long before because that's impossible in Vancouver. But the pond has frozen, and everyone has been playing hockey and skating for the past two weeks, so that's been fun!

My total is 24 cm of boring flurries on and off. Coming back to Vancouver tomorrow; maybe I can bring some cold!

Low of +0.2C this morning.

I can't seem to get below 0C. I'm beginning to think my thermometer is broken. Unless it's our climate that's broken.

That guy has been around for a while... I believe he was at TWN a few years back? I recall him also tweeting in early December 2021 regarding the long range model ensembles for late month looking similar to the pattern setup in December 2008, which ended up verifying fairly well, from a large scale perspective at least.

Wouldn't surprise me if we do see at least some wintry weather in Feb, given it has been the most likely month to deliver over the past decade.

From EC (for Abby):

An arctic airmass will bring below seasonal temperatures to the region. It may impact vulnerable populations and agricultural vegetation.
January 2025 incoming..looks like more Pineapples..Happy New Year!
