Some encouraging signs today with more models starting to come onboard with the idea of an increased chance that we at least trend cooler toward the end of the month... and perhaps finally break out of this stupid #patternlock.

Looking more promising than previously vague hints at a cold snap. I’m on board…hurt me weather gods, I can take it.

No response from Mr. Pineapple when he say's no snow.

Based on the latest model trends, I think the odds of an arctic blast in SWBC/PNW in late January are pretty good. Still a long ways to go but the EPS continues to trend in the right direction. Scandinavia ridge shifting into a -NAO bridging with an amplifying -PNA. That's a strong signal.

Nice to see that the OPs are now following a similar idea to what the long range Ensembles have been showing. We are now in the time frame where we can watch both OPs and short term ensembles for the possible pattern change.

Long way to go still though, but as of today the signs are positive.
