Too bad Ovi will be out for a while with an injury. It's more like when and not if he'll break Gretzky's goal record at this point.

He's as valuable to us as McDavid is to Edmonton. Okay, I'll pause my Benning criticism for a moment and thank him for drafting Hughes. Without him, we would likely not be in a playoff position right now. He literally drives the team. I'm still surprised we got him at 7th overall.  :D

Jr. Man if you go back and replay that draft a couple teams ahead of us took players no one expected it was a weird draft how it played out but yes we scored he's one point away from becoming the Canucks all time points leader for a D man 310pts. tied with Alex Edler.

Will be interesting to see what Canada's roster will look like for the 4 Nations Cup as it's getting released this week.

First time that I can recall we're going into a best-on-best tournament with absolutely no all-star goalies, which is a huge concern, despite both offense and defense looking stacked as usual.

I am excited at the prospect of seeing Crosby and McDavid playing together, even if it's the one and only time we'll see it. It's too bad hockey doesn't have best on best international tournaments more often, as we could've seen it multiple times now, especially when Crosby was still in his prime.

Quinn Hughes is one of the best Dman of all time.

Speaking of great, this could be the greatest goalie in NHL history. No one else is good enough to pull off 10 road wins like this...

P.S. I'm kidding about Lankinen being one of the best, but no joke about Hughes. The guy is sensational!

And speaking of sensational canucks, Daniel Sedin is one of only 13 players to ever win the scoring title in his 30s.

Earlier in the year when I checked to see who our best goalies were, I was  as to what I found, or didn't find. Had a hunch though as most starters seemed to be from, Finland, Sweden,or Russia. So Binnington, Skinner, or Glacier? Yikes

Whadaya think about an all poop disturber line of Bennet, Konecny, Tom Wilson ? They don't just play tough but they can actually skate and score. Maybe something to offset the lack of a top goalie.

I recall the Americans trying something similar (calling up a few grinders to the team) at the 2016 World Cup and it failing pretty badly. I would still go with the most skilled players for Canada.

Well, Konecny has 30 pts,and many analysts often mention Bennett, so I wouldn't be surprised if they pick at least one of those guys.

Do you think Hughes is better than Makar skill wise?

They're both amazing, with Makar having a slight edge, but check back in 3 years and it might be a different story.

How bad was John Garrett Glace he twice let in 12 goals against the LA Kings and the Oilers back in the day.
